Dr. Aime Tsinda, the founder and CEO of Equilibria Ltd., possesses an impressive and extensive background in academia, research, and consultancy, amassing over 17 years of experience in these fields. His professional journey includes holding the esteemed position of Director of Research for Development at CedeCo during the period of 2004/2005. Subsequently, he joined the Kigali Institute of Education, which is now recognized as the University of Rwanda, College of Education, in December 2005.

Continuing his academic contributions, Dr. Tsinda remains associated with the University of Rwanda, where he is a senior lecturer since 2018, now working within the College of Science and Technology (CST), specifically at the School of Architecture, Department of Spatial Planning. Notably, he also served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Analysis and Research, IPAR-Rwanda, from July 2011 to June 2018.

Dr. Tsinda's academic achievements include a PhD in Environment & Sustainability, with a dissertation focusing on sanitation in Kigali (Rwanda), Kampala (Uganda), and Kisumu (Kenya) from the University of Surrey, UK. He also earned a master's degree in urban planning from the University of Montreal, Canada, where his dissertation centred on environmental risks in Kigali, Rwanda. Moreover, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Rwanda, with his dissertation exploring runoff management in Kigali, Rwanda.

At the forefront of cutting-edge research and consultancy, Dr. Tsinda possesses extensive expertise in report writing, employing a mix of quantitative and qualitative research methods, policy analysis, case studies, and participatory approaches. Over the course of his career, he has drafted numerous high-level documents for governmental institutions, international agencies, and civil society organizations (CSOs) in various domains, including water resources, environment, climate change, disaster risk reduction and management, water, sanitation, hygiene, land use, agriculture, and urbanization.

Dr. Tsinda is multilingual, fluent in English, French, Swahili, and Kinyarwanda (his mother tongue), which has facilitated collaboration with diverse teams of researchers in culturally and linguistically varied settings. He has contributed significantly to the academic world through the publication of three books and over 40 articles in high-impact, peer-reviewed international journals. Additionally, he has actively participated in national and international conferences and workshops, presenting his research findings.

Furthermore, Dr. Tsinda is a founding member of the Rwanda Association of Professional Environmental Practitioners (RAPEP), a member of the Environmental Regulatory Research Group at the University of Surrey's School of Law in the UK, and a member of the Plastics Pollution Governance Framework Network. His passion for environmental matters and dedication to advancing the field is evident through his active involvement in various professional organizations and research groups.

Dr. Ernest Uwayezu is working with Equilibria Ltd as an expert in land, urban planning, and GIS. Dr. Uwayezu has drafted and published several articles in high impact journals using qualitative approaches. He completed his doctoral studies in land management in Germany in 2020, at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Prior to that, he completed the MSc studies in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observations applied in land administration and management in 2010, at the University of Twente, the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), in The Netherlands. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2004 at the University of Rwanda, in the department of Geography. Dr. Uwayezu has conducted several research activities pertaining to the environment and natural resources management, urban and regional planning towards economic transformation and sustainable development of Rwanda using qualitative approach.

Through his Doctoral research, Dr. Uwayezu Ernest enhanced his research skills on the issues pertaining to the participatory land use planning, inclusive and pro-poor service delivery in various sectors of social justice and access to basic infrastructure and services, including water and sanitation for poor and low-income people.

Dr. Ernest Uwayezu is currently associated with Equilibria Ltd as an expert in land, urban planning, and GIS. He is renowned for his proficiency in qualitative research approaches and has authored several impactful articles published in reputable journals. In 2020, Dr. Uwayezu successfully completed his doctoral studies in land management at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany. Prior to that, he attained his MSc in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observations, with a focus on land administration and management, at the University of Twente in the Netherlands in 2010. His academic journey commenced with undergraduate studies in Geography at the University of Rwanda in 2004.

His research endeavors have aimed to contribute to Rwanda's economic transformation and sustainable development using qualitative research methods.

Notably, his doctoral research centered on participatory land use planning and inclusive, pro-poor service delivery in sectors concerning social justice and access to fundamental infrastructure and services. His efforts have encompassed issues like water and sanitation accessibility for individuals from low-income backgrounds.
